Blocking traffic car Milan, Rome, Reggio Calabria February 2011

If in Rome yesterday for the third consecutive day the most polluting vehicles could not move today in Reggio Calabria (and perhaps also in Milan) was proclaimed the ban on all motor vehicles to travel the city streets. Therefore, blocking traffic in the town of Reggio Calabria from 8.30 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30.

Cars homologated Euro 4 and Euro 5 are exempt from the order as well as equipped with diesel particulate filter, the vehicles where the driver has more than 65 years, electric cars, hybrid, natural gas or LPG and cars to transport children for schools. In Rome, the situation is not the best and airborne concentrations of fine dust came to 50 micrograms per cubic meter.

Meanwhile Antonello Aurigemma, councilor to the mobility of capital Rome, attended a meeting with the cyclists at the Rome station of Saint John: they seek the extension of access to bicycles in the subway cars, which is currently allowed only on holidays.
