BMW 2013: Megacity Vehicle in hybrid version

BMW has just announced that the electric car known as the MegacityVehicle, a new generation small car that will debut in the near future (probably in 2013) and will be launched and marketed in a hybrid version EREV. BMW Vehicle Megacity will be propelled by an electric motor, while the traditional combustion engine will be available as an option, this solution adopted by BMW for its Megacity Vehicle, never used until now and really innovative.

BMW gives us more details about the project Megacity Vehicle revealing valuable details to begin to understand the small car with zero emissions, which will be presented probably by the end of February of this year and then begin to market in 2013. This brand new BMW compact, the Megacity Vehicle precisely, it uses a structure called the "LifeDrive, plastic reinforced with carbon fiber joint CRFP, alloy that may enable to match the values of the rigidity of a steel frame halving the mass with respect to an aluminum structure.

The engine will power the BMW Vehicle Megacity and placed into the back of the car itself and will be able to deliver well 136 hp (100 kW) maximum power with a range of 150 km, which would significantly increase autonomy (as the maximum power of rest) where the electric motor should be combined with conventional internal combustion engine, thus providing the customer with a hybrid of more traditional mold.
