BMW ConnectedDrive Vision

BMW will present at the Geneva Motor Vision ConnectedDrive, a prototype compact 2-seater roadster that anticipates the production model, called Z2 to date, expected in 2013. The car proudly presents a new generation of three-dimensional multimedia system and inaugurates a new styling for the German, with a different cut of the front and lights designed by Adrian Von Hooydonk and expected patterns already forthcoming.

Curious sliding doors, reminiscent of the BMW Z1, while the shapes of the body in layers take up the theme with the icon launched the 2009 Vision EfficientDynamics. No information was released about the basic mechanics of the car, while great emphasis is placed on the description of the system ConnectedDrive.

The exponential increase of available information has prompted a different approach to border management system, which BMW has evolved into a new dashboard with trimensionale heads-up display, with various levels overlap each other and selectable by the driver, so they can keep in the background the less important data, while potendoli draw a simple gesture and overlaying this information with those of reality that runs in front of their eyes in the concept of "Augmented Reality".

With full use of Internet connectivity and other vehicles will also be possible to develop novel applications in safety and viability, while the micro-cameras integrated into the headlights and rear can gather information to be sent to the driver. The new control system has also enabled a totally new design of the entire passenger compartment, with fewer items and a layered structure highlighted by several games of light: red / orange security level, blue for Infotainment, Silver for comfort.

The passenger can count on the Passenger Information Display, a dedicated system controlled by a surface conductive fabric
