BMW i: the electric is 800 new jobs

BMW has unveiled the new logo will distinguish that from 2013 all hybrid and electric models that will be introduced gradually. The German manufacturer with this project demonstrates to believe in the development of mobility with low environmental impact in the coming years, but is an example of how this sector present attractive opportunities for development and employment.

The manufacturer has announced an investment of about EUR 400 million in the project (with the development of two new models) and the creation of 800 jobs over the next two years at its plant in Leipzig. At a time certainly not favorable to the automotive industry, especially in Europe, talk of new employees does not appear at all obvious.

Is this the right way to get out finally and permanently from the crisis? The start of sales of electric models uncertain latest sembrebbe show that today the market is not ready for the electrification of mass (also due to the high cost of the final product). The investment by BMW, in addition to Renault-Nissan and PSA, is therefore not immune from a fair amount of risk.

But it is certainly appreciated the courage to invest in an innovative project by creating new jobs and not just maintaining existing ones.
