Daytime running lights: become mandatory on new cars

All new vehicles or new registration should be equipped with daytime running lights or DRL, to use an abbreviation in vogue by the parties in Brussels. The measure, designed to enhance the visibility of oncoming cars and trucks, arrived at 2 years after the EU directive requires that the media have provided such tools that turn on automatically when the engine along the lines of what is already on the car Scandinavian markets registered European law gave time to the car manufacturers to equip their products with these additional lights that, on average, consume 25-30% less than traditional battery low beam.

When it is dark, the driver must manually turn on the lights and driving, in this case the DRL goes off automatically. The trucks and buses, however, will be subject to this requirement only since August 7, 2012. And the vehicles already in circulation? The law does not require the installation of new lighting systems, which would not have been possible.

Instead requires the lighting of normal lights. This measure is part of the European program to drastically reduce the number of road deaths in Europe in a few years.
