EuroNCAP: favorable opinion for the Mitsubishi i-MiEV. Criticism of the Dacia Duster

At the last session of the entity EuroNcap crash test engineers have undergone testing the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, electric utility also available in versions Citroen (C-Zero) and Peugeot (ION). The compact Japanese has reached an overall assessment of four stars mainly due to satisfactory results in the front and side crash against a pole, and therefore generates no anomaly compared to conventional cars of the same object detection.

"We recognize the efforts made by Mitsubishi to show that car batteries can be as safe as the other," said Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary of EuroNCAP. "They show that a future five-star result is not unthinkable." In particular, the battery pack is not the victim of any short circuit and caused no sparks, thus showing an overall neutrality to sudden stress.

Mitsubishi engineers have programmed it to interrupt the central management functions of the batteries in the event of an accident. The positive reviews must be extended to the Peugeot and Citroen C-Zero ion.
