Ferrari F150 becomes the F150th

Just yesterday we wrote of the lawsuit filed by Ford to Ferrari for the brand "F150", used for years by the U.S. House for its pickup and used this year by the House of Maranello for the new Formula 1 car. Well, today the controversy has ended with the decision to change the name of Ferrari, by adding a "th" at the end (which in English identifying ordinal numbers).

So here it comes the Ferarri F150th. A press release from Maranello wanted to clarify the matter "Regarding the name of the new Ferrari Formula 1, the Prancing Horse gives notice that was sent a letter in response to Ford, noting that the initials Ferrari F150 (used as an abbreviation full name of the Ferrari F150th Italy) is not and never will be the name of a commercial product - there will certainly be a series production car - but, as ever in the history of the Scuderia, is the nomenclature of a draft of a racing car and is linked to a chronological order, or technical reasons, in exceptional cases, to particular events.

This year it was decided to dedicate it to a particularly significant as the 150th anniversary of the Unity of Italy, whose importance has led our government to proclaim this year alone, a national holiday. For these reasons, the Ferrari believes that we can not confuse your car the next season of F1 with any commercial vehicle or think that there is a link to another brand of vehicle traffic and is therefore very difficult to understand what is expressed by Ford.

That said, further evidence of good faith and fair dealing of the work of Ferrari, it was decided to delete and remove any site in the short name and always use the full Ferrari F150th Italy.
