Fiat Powertrain acquires 50% of VM Motori

Confirmed the rumors of recent days: Fiat Powertrain has officially announced an agreement whereby the subsidiary of Fiat S. p. To detect the 50% share of Penske Corporation, which owns the St. VM Motori p. A. (VM) from September 2007. The company, based in Cento (FE) has a long tradition and is specialized in the production of engines dieseldi own design, allowing Fiat to expand its offering of this type of propulsion.

Of particular concern are the technologically advanced products. So the company will have del3.0 ingot VM turbodiesel V6, with which to equip the most prestigious models of the Fiat-Chrylser (see eg Jeep Grand Cherokee and Lancia Thema). If the agreement will get the necessary approvals from antitrust authorities, Fiat-GM Powertrain and VM Motori will manage together, continuing to separately manage their commercial relationships with the same services, including engineering and supply of diesel engines.

So nothing will change for customers.
