Fiat to an end the joint venture with Tata

Tata Motors would not be satisfied with the joint venture with Fiat, which led to a low volume of car sales in India. For this reason the leaders of the subcontinent WOULD BE considering to revise the agreements signed in 2006 and linked to the distribution of some models of the Lingotto and the local production of engines for the Fiat range is the marketing of both models to Tata.

Failure to meet sales targets set could therefore lead to a further meeting to re-discuss the details or even a sensational divorce that would make life more difficult for Fiat in India. "The expectations that we had placed the Fiat brand did not go well" he said laconically R. Ramakrishnan, vice president of sales of Tata Motors.

In the review of strategies and arrangements, Fiat India will open some showroom "self" in various parts of the country will be added to the outlets being opened in Delhi and Pune, 150 km southeast of Mumbai, while dealers will continue to have both brands. In the period from April 2010 to January 2011, the country has sold 17,840 Fiat cars, a decrease of 12.03% over the same period last year when 20,280 were registered.
