Commercial milestone for the latest generation of Ford Fiesta in January, the B segment of the blue oval has been home produced 1,000,000 units, after 28 months of the start of its production (October 2008). Over the past 24 months, the Fiesta was the best-selling car in Europe in the small car segment, and the best-selling Ford home.
So far we have been assembled globally 1,140,000. These numbers confirm the historical appreciation of the audience for this car, produced 14 million units since 1976, when it was launched the first generation, until today. In Europe, the Fiesta is manufactured at plants in Cologne, Germany and Valencia, Spain.
But it is also produced in Nanjing (China), Rayong (Thailand) and Cuautitlàn (Mexico) and then be sold globally in over 100 markets. Last year was the best-selling car in Greece and the United Kingdom.
