Ford GT will be the heir of the hybrid

Ford is working on a successor to replace the Ford GT, the high-performance car that was inspired by the shapes of the legendary GT40 sports racing produced during the '60s. The future supercar of the blue oval, however, should differ markedly, both visually and for the mechanical solutions adopted, which will replace the car.

The forms of the retro GT would have to be abandoned in favor of a modern and sleek body design, inspired by the stylistic trends of the last supercar. The most radical, however, affect the mechanical part of the engine and the pattern of American sport, inspired by the latest prototypes like Porsche 918 Spyder and 911 GT3 R Hybrid, should offer a full hybrid solution that can give outstanding performance and very low polluting emissions for this type of cars.

The scheme should be based on a classic 5.4-liter V8 engine heat with supercharger capable of downloading the beauty of 600 hp on the rear wheels while the front axle there are two electric motors capable of delivering about 100 hp. The result would be 700 hp downloaded to all four wheels via a brand new dual-clutch gearbox designed specifically for this model.

One of the problems to solve would be the choice of the frame between the options is the most reliable makes room for an aluminum chassis and coupled to a body made of composite materials, so as to stop the scales at an altitude of 1,400 kg, or 200 in less than the version it replaces. In addition, the frame provides torsional rigidity to handle every situation in the high performance of the car.

The low weight and high power thus giving a better power to weight ratio can push this supercar from the soul "green" from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km / h . The main problem for the realization of this car are the high costs of design and production of the new hybrid system that would reflect the final price of the car.

The figures could reach or even exceed their already exorbitant fireballs the likes of Pagani, Lamborghini or Ferrari, but significant numbers do not seem to scare many collectors who crowd the waiting lists of these extraordinary cars.
