From toothpaste to the future of the electric car

The company is British and chiana Sigma-Aldrich; deals with chemistry. And among its segments that includes research on the generation of electricity by chemical, Read batteries, rechargeable batteries. And here comes the news: the company has developed a special mixture of sodium salts and silicon, defined not know how academically siliciudo alkali metal, in the presence of water to produce hydrogen.

This, combined with a miniaturized fuel cell and built to incorporate the salts in it, can have an electric power generator of long-lasting rechargeable instantly through a new charge of salts. So far the device has been designed for consumer electronics, with capacities ranging from 1 to 3000 W, but developments for major powers are possible and would open, like the research on supercapacitors, a new era for electric cars.

Keystone of the invention the low cost of production and supply of the mixture of salts, which once exhausted is fully disposed in the environment since it can essentially be treated as a toothpaste.
