The Ampera is now ready to go into production and Opel will present the final version at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March). The European version of the Chevrolet Volt will arrive in showrooms later this year and of course the top Opel hope to repeat the success of the American cousin. The cosmetic changes are very minor compared to the concept and the original headlights are extended to the bottom.
Recall that the Opel Volt can cover between 40 and 80 km with a zero-emissions electric motor powered by lithium-ion battery for 16 kWh. A small gasoline motor generator is able to extend the range up to over 500 kilometers on one tank.
