Hyundai i40w the Geneva Motor Show 2011

With just 10 days at the world premiere of the Hyundai i40 fixed for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2011 (3-13 March), the Korean house will present its first D-segment car designed and built specifically for the tastes of the difficult European market. The first images published by the manufacturer in Seoul take over the wagon version that will be distributed from next summer, a few months in anticipation of the arrival of the four-door sedan variant.

The new media in Europe that will replace the Hyundai Sonata was designed in Hyundai's design center in Rüsselsheim, Germany. The i40 incorporates the style of the now famous formula "Fluidic Sculpture", inaugurated by successful models such as the compact MPV and SUV ix35 ix20. The front of the car is distinguished by its hexagonal grille that incorporates the Hyundai brand and the chrome strip separates the two lights that go up to the front wheel arches and incorporate the design of the fog.

The side view is soaring thanks to the two ribs running along the doors, while the latter forms vaguely reminiscent of a coupe because of the long sloping rear window. As for the interior of the new i40, are provided practical inclination adjustable rear seats, heated steering wheel and an innovative device called de-mist to detect and remove - fully automatically - the fog on the windshield.

Thrusters in the range of i40 will debut the efficient 1.7-liter CRDi diesel 115 hp capable of emitting only 113 g / km of CO2. The 1.7 CRDi will be offered also in step 136 bhp of power that will be supported also by the 2.0-liter CRDi 177 hp. The supply of gasoline will be opened by the 1.6-liter GDI equipped with direct fuel injection, capable of 115 hp, while the top of the line will move the four-cylinder 2.0-liter, 177 hp.

Prices and composition of the i40 wagon for the Italian market will be announced at a press conference to be held at the Hyundai booth at the Geneva event. The only thing certain is that the average Korean can count on the reliable formula of guarantee "Triple 5" combining 5 years unlimited mileage warranty, 5 years of roadside assistance and even 5 years free of controls.
