Hyundai Motor Show Geneva 2011

The forthcoming Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March) will be the springboard for Hyundai ideal for presenting a novelty in the world and a first "European", which will accompany the stand of the Korean house in Geneva and appreciated the renewed range of vehicles represented the new design language "Fluidic Sculpture." Aesthetically, the front view of Veloster is related to the Hyundai family feeling represented by a soft and smooth, while the back is more personal thanks to the unique rear window that goes with the panoramic roof, to become a single element. The Veloster is equipped with a powerful, yet compact engine with gasoline direct injection 1.6-liter GDI, which delivers 140 hp and 167 Nm available at 4850 rpm.

The choice of transmission has fallen to a six-speed manual that can later be replaced by a new dual-clutch transmission (DCT) six-speed transmission (thereby improving fuel economy and acceleration performance in the order of 6 %). For the moment the manual according to the Veloster House consumes an average of only 6 liters of fuel per 100 km, while CO2 emissions stop on the threshold of 132g/km.

How will the new European concept known as the Curb, a compact crossover that the extreme terms of the design concept called "Fluid Sculputure" and wonder for the many futuristic ideas represented by the large colored dashboard that wraps the front seat occupants, entertaining them with a number of electronic systems such as the connection to the Internet, satellite navigation, air conditioning and a sophisticated audio system.

Everything is controlled by a joystick at the bottom of the dashboard and displayed by the large displays of the console but also the smaller one located in the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Worth noting is the introduction of Hyundai Blue Link Technology to diagnose technical problems and mechanics of the car, sending the results via the network directly to the dealership, in addition to alerting the owner of a possible case of attempted vehicle theft.

Part of this stand will be occupied by the environmentally friendly cars belonging to the 'Blue Drive ", which includes the electric car BlueOne developed based on the i10 and ix35 FCEVO prototype. This is a version of "eco" appreciation of the ix35 equipped with fuel cell technology that allows for a full tank of hydrogen with a range exceeding 650 km.
