Imperia GP: retro feel with hybrid technology

Founded in 1900, the Imperia Automobiles is an old car niche, and full of competitive and commercial successes achieved in the first half of last century. After a period of oblivion, the manufacturer north European comeback at the last Motor Show in Brussels with the presentation of an innovative model called Imperia GP, which cleverly combines retro forms a mechanical hybrid generation .

Aesthetically inspired by the sports cars of the '30s and '40s, the GP comes with a coupe body made of composite material, characterized by a long hood that ends with a big grille almost vertical, the sides are dominated by the generous wheel and vents, while the cockpit designed for driver and passenger is positioned almost behind the rear axle.

The shapes of vintage cars, however, must not be misleading, because the Imperia GP under the body hides a mechanical sport, able to provide first-rate sports performance, fuel consumption and pollutant emissions really ridiculous for the type of performance which is capable of. The Belgian sport is compelled by a compact 1.6-liter supercharged engine capable of delivering 210 hp and 260 Nm of torque and combined with an electric engine capable of 136 hp and 300 Nm others, resulting in a total power of 346 hp.

To change the technicians have relied on a Belgian classic 5-speed manual, for suspensions, we opted for a double wishbone independent, while the tires are fitted with a set of spoked alloy wheels from 18 inches. If you use all the available cavalry abundant, the GP is able to detach from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4 seconds, and if you only use the electric propulsion system the shot goes up to about 6 seconds, a time worthy of Note if you think that this will not be released into the air emissions.

The hybrid scheme is used by the Empire GP plug-in that allows an average range with only the electric drive of about 70 km, while the charging time home network via the normal amount is around 4 hours and a half. If you use both engines the House declares a combined fuel consumption of 1.9 l/100 km and emission levels of pollutants only just 50 g / km of CO2.

The Imperia GP will arrive on the market next year with a starting price of € 89,950 which will be joined by a special edition called "First Edition" proposal at a price of € 120,360 and is characterized by a particularly luxurious facilities and treated.
