Land Rover: Range_e in Geneva from 89 g / km

Land Rover at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 will bring the much awaited Evoque, the Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition, two special equipment for Discovery called Black and White, and Range_e. The latter is a hybrid prototype based on the Range Rover Sport, capable of emitting just 89 g / km of CO2 compared with respectable performance: top speed of 193 km / h and range of 1112 km.

Land Rover chose to focus on the combination of a diesel engine and an electric motor, similar to PSA, in contrast to the rest of the sector. The parallel architecture allows you to travel for 32 kilometers on electric power alone, with zero emissions, or to exploit the full power of 3.0 TDV6.

The 8-speed ZF automatic transmission transmits the drive to all four wheels, while the electricity is stored in lithium ion battery. Technical solutions rather than original and definitely cutting edge, which confirm the experimental nature of this prototype. Land Rover states that Range_e is just one of many projects carried out by the research center on the hybrid and electric engines, and technical and commercial details will be issued during the fair.

As for the Evoque, which will be exhibited in both Coupe and 5-door Land Rover on March 1 will communicate the final lists and available accessories for customization. After the Geneva Motor Show Evoque arrive in dealerships, and they expect great sales results.
