Launches New Grand Voyager to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show

Second life for the Voyager, the MPV that between 1983 and 1984 constituted the starting point for Chrysler ilrilanciodell'allora gasping. At the Geneva Motor Show 2011, in fact, will debut the European version of Grand Voyager, which "wear" the Lancia brand, will be called New Grand Voyager, and will be given, at least at first, with two engines: a 3.6 liter petrol and 2.8-liter turbodiesel, both Euro 5.

This will be the first minivan to the Italian brand, successor to the Lancia Phedra, which will leverage the partnership between the Lingotto and Detroit. And all this at age 27 from entering the market of "family van" strongly backed by then-president Lee Iacocca of Chrysler. The front grille takes the title and the Lancia brand, and even the shape of the front and rear bumpers, the form of LED lights and fog, with a small tailgate spoiler appear a new design.

In essence, however, the Italian-American monovulume remains almost identical to its counterpart and Chrysler, at least at first glance, it seems to reflect the stylistic canons of the Italian brand. Unchanged are the dimensions: 5.14 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.72 high, with a wheelbase of 3100 mm.

To ensure an appropriate response to family needs, Lancia New Grand Voyager Stow will keep the system 'n Go on the minivan at Chrysler since 2006. With this device, the five seats of the second and third row seats can be folded to disappear into the floor, to form a wide load area, while if the two rear rows of seats are held upright, bins in the floor can be used as storage areas.

The opening of the sliding side doors and tailgate is electrically operated and fitted with a device to detect any obstacles that may be present during the closing. The displays will be provided three: Silver, Gold and Platinum, which differ from each other to offer the accessories and finishes, the latter is more accurate than the herald cousin Chrysler, Lancia to continue to apply the asset even at this stage re-badging.

An example of all concerns ilrivestimento seats that depending on the outfit will be fine fabrics or leather. The equipment aboard the Grand Voyager Launches New infotainment system has the UConnect Tunes (including radio, CD and DVD, MP3, USB port, Aux input, 30 GB memory) with touchscreen, and UConnect device with built-in microphone in the rearview mirror central voice-activated Bluetooth and preparation; ParkView system with rear camera to detect obstacles during operation, and the radio system to 9 speakers with subwoofer and amplifier from 506 W and Hyperlink system with DVD player Double LCD screen, 9 "(radio, HD, Aux, USB) for the two rear rows of passengers.

In addition, the internal LED lighting, the lamps can direct the beam of light only where needed. Sub the hood, the proposal provides for the diesel 2.8 CRD turbodiesel four-cylinder. This unit, produced by Italy's VM, is declared by a power of 163 hp, 360 lb-ft of torque and a mid-cycle consumption of 8.4 liters of diesel per 100 km, with CO2 emissions in the order of 227 g / km.

E ', therefore, an engine more in line with the needs of our markets. Plus, perhaps, of the 3.6-liter V6 petrol 283 hp and 305 Nm of torque, rated at an average consumption of 12.3 liters per 100 km and 250 g / km of CO2 emissions, which, however, in other markets outside of Italy could be some interest.

For the 3.6 V6 petrol, is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission with torque converter for the approximate spacing between grafting ratio and the other is limited in this way, changes of regime between the different "gears ". The safety equipment includes multi-stage front airbags, curtain at the three rows of seats and chest-back to front-seat passengers.

For the Grand Voyager, we see that the first phase of the brand relaunch Turin, which provides a passage between Chrysler and Lancia brand, dictated by the possibility of offering, for Europe, launched nearly a full range and low business costs. In a second step, we will witness the realization of a common platform Chrysler models and Lancia, characterized by technical and stylistic solutions for the market in the U.S.

or European countries.
