Mazda 2 Sedan: bye bye Australia

The Mazda 2, the small 4-door sedan of the Japanese firm, was removed from the list throughout Australia in just eight months after launch. The reason? The Japanese manufacturer has decided to move from Thailand to Hiroshima's production for the market version of the land of kangaroos, which will instead be sold elsewhere.

Mazda said the change is due to the fact that this model is proving successful in Southeast Asia but not in Australia and that was no longer economically sustainable supply adequately the market in that country. Here, the Japan House spokesman said the company does not believe that the disappearance from the market of a 4-door sedan ports damage to the brand since it was the 5-door version (essentially to tailgate) to be more appreciated by customers.

For that reason, recovering from a thinly-veiled commercial flop, Austrialia is coming on the market from this month a new version of the Mazda 2 version in two volumes and with entirely new colors, same 1.5-liter engine and 103 hp abbinbamento a manual or automatic transmission.
