New Ford GT: a hybrid?

Most probably the new Ford GT could be a hybrid model, the American supercar, the icon of the '60s will have a new motor configuration with two-wheel drive and good electrical units on the front axle. As for the rear of the car next to the Ford GT will continue to use the classic supercharged V8 petrol engine of 5,400 cubic centimeters capable of delivering about 600 hp, while the two electric motors should be able to generate an output of up to 100 hp.

This engineering solution is quite similar to that used by Porsche for two of its hybrid models, the 918 and 911, the new Ford GT, however, could be presented to the public at a cost not exactly insignificant, since the costs of industrialization and engineering of this system, and the transmission can handle it, could be high and most likely will say goodbye to a symbol of the Ford GT, manual transmission.

The price will not however be definitely a discouraging factor for those who can afford it, also compared to the GT of the past, besides being obviously more sensitive to the environment, the new Ford GT will be a whole lot lighter, with better handling and a whole lot more efficiently and effectively.

The timing of market launch will be announced shortly.
