New Kia Rio: first official images

After a few weeks ago released some sketches, Kia finally publish the first official photos of the renewed Rio that will be presented to the general public at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March). Made on the platform of "cousin" Hyundai i20, with which it shares many components, the new Rio stylistic approaches to the recent House of South Korea who have made the fortune of models like the Sportage, Sorento and the Meet.

Compared with the version it replaces, the new Rio offers a greater width (+25 mm), length (+ 55 mm) and a step more abundant than 70 mm, for a total of 2.57 meters, which translates into more space for rear passengers and luggage simultaneously in a wider, which in this version comes to 292 liters.

For the moment, were not disclosed images of the interior, although in this respect the House of Seoul said that the Rio "will achieve a high level of interior quality very high, comparable to that of the larger models of the range." The new engines in the supermini segment "B" will include 1.1 liter diesel unit capable of delivering 70 hp and contain the harmful emissions by 85 g / km of CO2, and since 2012 the 1.2-liter GDI engine, equipped with gasoline direct injection and turbocharging.

The new Rio will be on sale in Europe in 5-door variation from next autumn, while the 3-door version will be introduced in early 2012.
