New Lancia Ypsilon: 5-door fashion

Not only flagships or Chrysler models derived from the Lancia stand at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The House Turin in fact take the opportunity to present the new Ypsilon 5-door, whose measures, however, has not increased significantly above alll'attuale 3-door version. It increases the length of only 3 cm (3.84 against 3.81 meters) and width (1.67 meters), height (1.51) and pitch (2.39) are practically equal.

Stands the new grille, the more impressive and very similar to that of the new Thema. The shapes of the body have something in common with those of the Ypsilon 3-door, and represent a natural evolution. The windshield is advanced, the front overhang shortened so as to increase the rear to get more space.

The lines are more rounded, thanks especially to the rear overhang and the pattern of the side. Even for the 5-door version of the Ypsilon you can choose from 17 liveries, including 4 dual color and composition will be available 3 (Silver, Gold and Platinum). The cockpit, for which designers have been inspired by Lance a hug, inspired by the Ypsilon current analog instrumentation with centrally located and under which develops the control console for the climate and infotainment system.

The car is approved for five occupants, for which the post is not lacking, and the boot ensure Turin is among the most spacious in the segment thanks to the use of "slim seats", a technology that finds here its first application within the Fiat Group Automobiles. Full list of accessories that include, among others, Magic Parking (automatic parking) and the Blue & Me-TomTom2 (device allows you to manage through a touch-screen color phone, navigation and all the information needed to control).

The engine range of the new Ypsilon is composed of two petrol engines, a turbo diesel and a bi-fuel petrol / LPG. The first two are a 1.2-liter, 69 and the new 0.9-liter Twin 85cv, the latter also with semi-automatic gearbox DFN. Both are scoring very low fuel consumption and emissions.

The turboDiesen II is the 1.3-liter Multijet 95 bhp which is combined with the Stop & Start system standard by which the CO2 emissions of just 99 g / km in the combined cycle. Finally available the bi-fuel (petrol / LPG) by 1.2-liter 69 hp Euro 5 which is at 110 g / km of CO2 in the combined cycle.

The new Lancia Ypsilon arrive on European markets from April, and September with Chrysler in Great Britain and Ireland, at a price yet to be defined.
