Porsche Panamera Hybrid S: debut at Geneva 2011

Porsche will debut during the upcoming 2011 Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March), the Panamera Hybrid S version of the German four-door sport that uses a combination of combustion engine and electric engine already used on the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid and the "sister" Volkswagen Touareg. This particular mechanical architecture - increasingly popular among manufacturers of premium cars - you get the Panamera sports performance combined with fuel consumption and emissions for this kind of really small cars, helping also to comply with the House of Zuffenhausen increasingly restrictive limits imposed by European regulations on emissions of pollutants.

The hybrid system consists of the Teutonic quattroporte from the gasoline (source Audi) 3.0-liter V6 with a turbo compressor capable of delivering 333 hp and coupled to a drive power from 47 hp (for a total of 380 hp and 580 Nm of torque from 1000 rpm), funded by a group of batteries located behind the rear axle of the car.

For transmission, the German engineers were assigned to the 8-speed transmission with Tiptronic manual mode and using the lever behind the center console. According to the German House, the Panamera Hybrid S has a top speed of 270 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in six seconds flat, registering an average consumption of just 6.8 l/100km tires with low resistance Rolling made by Michelin, the tires while you switch to standard 7.1 l/100 km.

Consumption as low emissions as contained reveal obviously, equal to 159 g / km of CO2 (167 g / km standard tires), making the Porsche Panamera, the "cleanest" ever. The ESA and the processes are connected via a clutch system-managed "Hybrid Manager", which automatically adjusts the system to work together or separately the two power units to suit your needs.

At low speeds and up to two km distance, the Panamera can travel with lasola electric mode for about 2 km with a maximum speed limit Parian to 85 mph without emitting harmful emissions or fuel. The electric propulsion system, but can also be helpful to the internal combustion engine in case of need for more power, such as rapid acceleration or overtaking.

In highway travel when the car moves by inertia and speeds up to 156 km / h, the system disables the Hybrid Manager V6 turbo using the so-called "Sailing Mode". After her debut at the Geneva Motor Show already mentioned, the S Porsche Panamera Hybrid will be ready for commercialization beginning next June at a starting price of € 106,185.
