Renault flies revenue, up 15.6% in 2010

Closure positive for the French automotive group Renault, which announced today the results of 2010 profits to € 3.42 billion, up 13.7% of sales (2,630,000 cars), +15.6% year on year turnover, a proportion that rises to € 38.9 billion. A good result after losing 3.12 billion in 2009. The operating profit amounted to € 1.09 million, or 2.8% of sales, which offset the loss of 396 million in 2009.

The Automotive Division has contributed to revenues of € 37.172 billion, an increase of 16.3% year on year mainly due to the positive effect on the volume. The President and CEO of Renault, Carlos Ghosn, said that the publication of the final financial results confirm the performance of the Renault higher than expected. In contrasting markets, Renault has shown its ability to seize growth opportunities and strengthen its solidity.

In addition, he added, these results provide a solid foundation for the launch of the new strategic plan that will extend the range of the group of 44 models, with a further increase to 48 by 2016.
