Rolls-Royce 102EX: Her Majesty becomes electric

At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March), Rolls-Royce will present its first all-electric concept car. The last child of a noble English house and called 102 EX is built on the basis of the flagship Phantom, the ultimate expression of luxury and opulence combined in a car. The ultimate luxury sedan, this version environmentally friendly, would excite the imagination of wealthy clients with an almost provocative proposal, at the same time trying to figure out if this type of car can have a commercial future.

The confirmation comes directly from Torsten Müller-Ötvös, managing director of Rolls Royce: "We designed the first electric vehicle placed in the ultra-luxury segment, we can understand the reactions of our customers, even if for the moment there are no conditions for introduce the 102 EX on the market.

" The show car has been brought forward by three images give sparse details: the first is shown the tip of the front grille where stands the statue of the Spirit of Ecstasy illuminated from within. In the second there is the indicator of the electric charge of the car, while the third picture captures the filler charge used to make the "full" Ettrich of the car.
