Spyshots Mini Roadster

First spy photos for the Mini Roadster: the car should be built on the base coupe and the upcoming version will have a retractable canvas roof. Honestly, with the Cabrio in the range, we would have expected the arrival of a "discovery two-seater from the English house. But it is clear that his arrival in the manufacturer launches a new business challenge: ensnare cars more closely the likes of the Mazda MX-5.

The aesthetic seems wholly derived from the Cooper S. It should also derive the 1.6 turbo engine from 177 hp (211 in the JCW version). However, the general appearance of the car should be more intriguing of the Cooper / One: the windscreen pillars are in fact more inclined backwards and give the car a more aerodynamic and streamlined.

We have no doubt that with the roof down, drowned behind the passengers, the car can really turn heads. Species with the electric rear spoiler up. Could be presented at Frankfurt to reach the market in early 2012.
