Volkswagen is developing an ultra low power version of the next (L) Up! (O), which uses the drive train of the XL1, the car 111, km / liter just introduced to the hall of Qatar. The car should be called up blue-and-motion and thus be propelled dallla same cylinder turbodiesel derived from a single block of 800 cm3 of the 1.6-liter engine attualemnte in production.
Same power, therefore, 47 hp electric motor associated with the same power in traction, 26 hp, as would equal the transmission: a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Things change, however, the department "reservoirs" where part of the system may rely on lithium batteries of lower capacity: Up to the blue-and-motion could not then move to purely electric drive, even for short distances, but would take the engine to be only 26 hp to start as firm and as a booster in the vehicle acceleration.
Ultraeconomica Up The weighs about 300 kg more than the XL1, reaching 1095 kg and the relatively higher consumption achieved by the concept car, while still low, they speak in mileage of 40.5 km / liter (compared to 60 km / liter the XL1 with the Diesel on), thanks to the system start & stop called Pulse starting, speeding up the combustion engine at speeds up to support the minimum before injecting the fuel, thus making the start-up fast, secure and completely undetectable by driver.
