Toyota Yaris celebrates ten years of production in France

Toyota Yaris celebrates ten years in production Fankreich: On 31 January 2001 in Valenciennes, the first model rolled off the assembly line. Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF) started with a capacity of 150 000 vehicles a year and 2,000 employees. Over time, the annual production increased to up to 270 000 vehicles, representing a car per minute.

Our productivity has been achieved by the possibility of a three-shift operation in production now with 3268 employees. The total production has now reached 1.9 million vehicles. Valenciennes covers the entire European Toyota Yaris demand. It is the best selling Toyota model and is sold in 36 countries in Western and Eastern Europe.

Central markets are France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. Presently, in the work of the preparations for the start of production of a compact hybrid model in 2012. (Ampnet / jri)
