2011 Saleen: stop the production car

The U.S. Saleen brand, recently acquired by Global Revstone Performance Vehicles, it will stop producing its own cars by the middle of this year, devoting himself to the production of aftermarket parts. Saleen, especially brand specialized in the production of special versions of the Ford Mustang, officially announced yesterday its decision to discontinue production car.

The last car to be produced by the American manufacturer will be the Saleen S302 and will be assembled in the historic factory in Troy, Michigan, where he assembled an amazing Saleen S7 supercar Stars and Stripes that won favor with the public. The Saleen S302, it will be the last development on a Mustang produced by the American brand, which as already said after the summer of 2011, will increase the production of aftermarket components, in what is the division Speedlab Saleen.

The brand was founded by former driver Steve Saleen Saleen (hence the name) in 1983, which came out in 2007 by his own company to found after two years, in 2009, the SMS Supercars, mark designed specifically to make aftermarket components, specializing mainly in the development of American cars.

Are currently available for sale, SMS Supercars versions of the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. The fans will be sorry for the disappearance from the market of the Saleen brand, but probably the owners of S7 will now feel even more fortunate, given the decision announced by the mark.
