Was concerned that the Volkswagen brand Alfa Romeo now is not new, but it seems that the German manufacturer wants to exploit the recent acquisition of Porsche cars to give the Alfa engine Porsche. This is not even a novelty, given that in 1984, Porsche has equipped its Seat Ibiza System Porsche engines.
The first engine that could be used for that purpose might be what you are developing for the Boxster, which is the 4-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer 2.5-liter turbo. Have a motor like that on an Alfa would return as the roar of a few years ago, when the sound of the engines that was the unmistakable Alfa Alfasud and 33.
What is certain is that the discussion between Marchionne and senior Volkswagen goes on, although for now it does not seem possible that the Alfa Romeo steps in German hands.
