B99 Bertone Jaguar concept at the Geneva Motor Show

To celebrate 99 years (in 2012) brand Bertone, the prestigious Italian design brand with Jaguar have created the concept B99 presented these days at the Geneva Motor Show 2011. It is a sedan with elegant design and sinuous, with a 4-door opening mechanism "book" (in this prototype with no center post).

4.5 m long, 1.95 m wide, 1.35 high with me a whole of 2.8 m, B99 Bertone Jaguar concept intended by the manufacturer would fit into the D-segment, starting from a typical architecture in 3 volumes and the adoption of lightweight materials like aluminum in many parts of the body, according to the tradition of a mark as Bertone.

As for the novel propulsion concept is powered by two electric motors that can develop from only 400 horses, and accompanied by an internal combustion engine supercharged 1.4-liter 170 horsepower. The result is a total power of 570 hp. According to the notice of the car should be able to run 700 km with full autonomy (mixed) on highway mileage while maintaining extremely low CO2 emissions (30 g / km).

The duo, however, Bertone, Jaguar did not want to stop at the road version, but went on to develop a racing version designed to run races of long duration (24h Le Mans and Nurburgring). This is precisely the B99 GT Bertone Jaguar concept that starting from the sedan version has undergone changes to adapt for use in and out on the track.

The already low structure has been further reduced to 10 cm were adopted 325/30/19 Pirelli P Zero racing tires and a set of aerodynamic devices (front and rear spoilers, additional air intakes, etc.). As for the engine engineers have thought well to introduce an additional electric motor for wheel drive that brings the power overall to 980 horses.
