The BMW 1 Series M the safety car MotoGP

Coming onto the market at the end of next April, but in the meantime we can admire this weekend at the Losail circuit in Qatar. The new BMW 1 Series coupe in fact M was chosen as the official Safety Car for the season's MotoGP championship. The version developed by the house of Monaco of Bavaria is a unique course, designed for its use on the track.

In addition to the engine 6-cylinder BMW 3-liter house capable of delivering 340 horsepower (and 450 Nm of torque), many interventions were made by the M division of the German. Among the most noticeable changes are the rear spoiler in carbon fiber, the windows made of polycarbonate (except front windshield), and the elimination of the entire back seat as usual.

For this model also - that at the Nurburgring has done even better than the M3 and M5 sisters - Bavarian engineers have implemented a racing exhaust system in titanium with 4 terminals that not only allows the car to hold the weight, but gives a sound like a real sport. Externally, in addition to the color white with three red-blue-blue band typical of BMW M series stand out the forged alloy wheels 19-inch black tires equipped with 255/35 front and 285/30 at the rear.

Inside the script was introduced as a roll-bar safety, sport bucket seats with 6-point safety belt anchor, fire extinguisher service and leather steering wheel, Alcantara with Logo M. Among other changes introduced by the technicians finally appear braking system plus with 6-piston calipers and suspension specifications.
