Chrysler recalls 250,000 cars for engine problems

Recall in sight for the Chrysler Group: The NHTSA - the U.S. federal agency in charge of road safety - announced that more than 248,000 cars will return to the dealer to remedy a defect that arises from the engine. It is not even a small thing, since it seems that the ignition key, once set in motion the car, you might suddenly return to "off" switch off the engine.

According to a spokesman for Chrysler, the problem would not be the ignition lock, but simply (and trivially) in the keychain that when driving on bumpy roads or in case of accidental impact can turn the whole key to "stop". Interested to measure are the minivan Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country (which in Europe is called Grand Voyager) and the Dodge Journey crossover, built between August 2009 and June 2010.

As always happens in case of measures of this magnitude, it is said that all cars have called this defect (the House believes that only 3% to be affected). But the NHTSA reported "2 rear-end collisions, 32 lawsuits and 465 complaints" related to the sudden and unwanted shutdown of the engine while driving.

All owners will be notified in time by written notice, which will contain instructions to bring their bikes checked for free in their car. The roadmap provides that the first checks to be made by early April.
