De Macross GT1: from Canada to 346 km / h

Canada, despite its many qualities is certainly not famous for producing sports cars. Yet De Macross Macross GT1 made by the Canadian Motors Corp (DMMC) will probably change my mind to many enthusiasts. Made from the initiative Jahong Mur, this performance supercar 4.73 meters long, 1.98 wide 1.68 m high only me shows a line inspired by racing cars, in particular those of the late 90's endurance.

The front is characterized by a short snout and a sloping oval headlights that includes the two aggressive and two louvers adorning the hood. Less original is the long tail that is home to the powerful engine, located behind the seats, and the large adjustable rear wing, while the side view has gullwing doors.

The lightweight monocoque chassis is made entirely of aluminum and is combined with carbon fiber body. Canadian engineers have optimized the frame to provide a stable and rigid platform combined with the lowest possible weight, at the same time providing maximum security that complies with the EEC and FMVSS certification standards.

To the suspension was chosen a new generation of electronically controlled system. The sophisticated suspension system actually uses the famous push-rod system derived directly from the formula one cars and recently also used by Lamborghini Aventador. The shocks are independent and four-way type of adjustment: Ride Control system lowers the car less than 28 mm during the fast tracks, so as to ensure maximum aerodynamic downforce and greater stability.

Furthermore the car boasts a brand new hydraulic anti-roll that allows an improvement of vehicle control at extreme speed. The engine was positioned at the center of the car, so as to ensure an almost perfect weight distribution. The source drive Ford and Roush is prepared by specialists of a 5.4-liter V8 and 800 hp, developed through the adoption of two turbo compressors.

With these performance numbers are impressive: the GT1 touches 346 km / h top speed and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.5 seconds and 160 km / h reached in 7.5 seconds. The production of GT1 has already begun and is expected to reach about 200 units by the end of 2011. For the moment, the manufacturer has maintained the strictest of confidence on the price of the car that natural images appropriate to the emotions that this racing car is able to offer.
