The electric car market to the test

After much talk of electric cars, clean energy and emissions reduction is time to see what happens in the market. With the rising price of oil and the combination of the International Motor Show in Geneva where they were exposed most of the prototypes and standard versions of electric cars, it's time to discover the future of the electric car.

Will he really upset the market? For now, the hybrid models hit the market, first of all the Toyota Prius, have had a good response of customers and, in general, in today's market, the hybrid is more likely to succeed than an electric car. Of course, an electric motor produces no carbon dioxide emissions but still limited battery life and independence make electric cars of the optimal solutions only for the city (at least for now).

While the car manufacturers aim to have good mechanical performance and emissions at low environmental impact the chain of production of electric cars produce pollution, effectively shifting the dispersion of CO2 upstream assembly. However in Geneva have also seen engines hybrid diesel-electric HYbrid4 as the Peugeot 3008, there were the new Toyota Prius +, the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid and many other interesting news.

2012 will be a crucial year for Europe to see if in fact electric cars and hybrid cars will replace the internal combustion engine. At the market will judge.
