Fiat Freemont: goal 40,000 per year

Fiat's goal is to sell 40,000 units annually of Freemont, specifically 20,000 in Italy and 20,000 in the rest of Europe. To announce this ambitious target was Andrew Formica, head of sales and marketing at the Lingotto, who says he is very optimistic about the future of the new seven-seat crossover based on the Fiat brand and made dell'americanissimo Dodge Journey.

The production will start this summer in Fremont Mexican Chrysler plant in Toluca, where it also produced the Fiat 500 to the American market. The goal of 40,000 units does not seem so unattainable in reality not, as the Croma, left the scene without regret a few months ago, although it had not been a model too appreciated and praised throughout the whole of its production, sold about 65,000 units annually.

In addition to Formica, the use of a U.S. platform for the new Fiat model will be neither hidden, nor will be highlighted in a possible marketing strategy. The Freemont may still have the right cards to win a significant slice of customers. Among the features that now seem more interested in the public are set high by crossover, and the generous space offered by the important measures (4.89 meters long, 1.88 m wide and 1.72 m high).

Not even sottovalutarre the modularity of 7 seats, with the third row of seats in case of necessity disappear flush to the floor, creating a space in its regular maximum capacity can reach up to 1,461 liters of magnitude. In addition, the second-row seat can also count on the device "child booster with a booster seat which makes sitting comfortable and correct for children and at the same time optimizes the position of the seat belt for maximum safety and comfort.

An injection of "Italian" will celebrate the range of turbodiesel engines, all "made in Fiat." The engine range will in fact be developed by the sector Fiat Powertrain (FPT), which will develop for the multi space thrusters Italian-American family of 2.0-liter Multijet turbodiesel, available in the versions 140 and 170 hp.

The gasoline range instead adopt the V6 engine belonging to the family of origin Chrysler Pentastar from 3.6 liters and 276 hp, combined with the automatic transmission manufacturer in the U.S..
