Fiat Freemont: The sales target is 40,000 units per year

I am very ambitious sales targets for the Fiat Freemont, the new flagship assembled in Mexico: The Italian wants to hand a 40,000 annually; 20,000 in Italy and as many in the rest of Europe. To hope these numbers was the same Andrew Formica, head of the Italian sales and marketing. Production will begin in full swing during summer in the plant in Toluca.

The strike price should be around € 25,000. The target business that does not seem impossible: the unfortunate Croma, out of production only a few months ago, has also managed to sell 65,000 units a year during his short career, and was certainly not a masterpiece of design. Moreover, has "sin" of having revived the glorious name of the historic flagship Fiat and that there was a real continuity with it.

Decision that did turn up their noses at many in 2005. The Freemont comes at a very different business environment: the aftermath of the economic crisis still feel, there is an ever more "prepared" in the field of automotive know very well that the DNA of the car. And this is also to ants, in a recent interview he said: "Do not try to hide his American origins, nor did we want to emphasize as a marketing tool." The platform shared with the U.S.? We believe that certainly will not be decisive in influencing the sales of the car: even the previous flagship of the Lingotto shared the platform with most other manufacturers and not so famous.

In addition, while not shining for originality, the style of Freemont is practical and discreet. Probably more in line with current European tastes than was that of Croma 2005. The design remains the most discussed item since it does not do anything to differentiate itself from its twin stars and stripes.

A defect that has affected almost all of the new Lancia range with no little criticism Rejecters of "naturalization". If nothing else, no one has fallen in futile attempts to "cheat" the customer as in the case of some German group (see Audi A4 B7 -> Seat Exeo). The trump cards are Italian-American others: Freemont, according to Fiat, is not an SUV and even a minivan, but a car that the manufacturer seeks to "make it interesting for the widest possible audience." Surely it is very versatile: its 7 seats, the modularity and the possibility of having four-wheel drive makes it much more comprehensive and multifaceted Croma 2005.
