Geneva 2011: Fiat Freemont - an Italian American

The convergence of Fiat and Chrysler is now evident in the range. The Italians show at the Geneva Motor Show (- 13.03.2011) the Van Freemont. Behind it is the Dodge Journey, the Fiat has a stronger focus on European standards. In addition to the interior, the chassis has been revised. Serve as a drive-house 2.0-liter Multijet turbodiesel.

They achieve 103 kW / 140 PS and 120 kW / 170 PS. The Fremont offers to 4.89 meters in length up to seven seats arranged in three rows. The second and third row of seats is positioned slightly higher than the respective preceding. The second row can be equipped with special child safety seats, which always ensure the best possible position for safety and therefore maximum protection.

If necessary, the third-row seats are folded down with simple operations. They fold completely into the floor together to form a flat load floor. The boot capacity is expanded by 1461 to liters. Additional comfort and safety provide the high seating position of the driver, ergonomically designed seats for all passengers and a variety of storage options.

The optics of Freemont is dominated by the new design of front and rear. The tail lamps are designed as LED units. The cockpit was heavily reworked. Central elements are the curved instrument panel, a completely new instrument panel and distinctive center stack with the large color screen of the console with touch screen.

Freemont is offered in two trim levels which are significantly different from each other. Standard both have three-zone automatic climate control, keyless central locking (keyless entry system), cruise control, trip computer, tire pressure monitoring system, fog lamps and an audio system with screen and remote control via controls on the steering wheel.

The higher-quality equipment also offers 17-inch alloy wheels, an even better audio system with larger screen (diameter 8.4 inches) and drives for DVDs and SD memory card, a Bluetooth hands-free system, rear parking sensors, electrically folding exterior mirrors, automatic driving lights, tinted rear wheels and roof rails.
