Limit of 70 mph on the bypass in Milan disappear March 16

From Wednesday, March 16, 2011 on the Milan ring road the speed limit would increase from 70 km / h in the old 90 km / h. The peculiar thing is that the speed limit was set a70 km / h only 21 of February just past. The Province of Milan had made the decision to combat pollution from the outset but the measure was not convinced especially as the tangential of Milan are almost all three lanes in each direction and provided with an emergency lane.

The motivation to fight pollution does not seem valid because the peak of pollution is at peak when it passes through the bypass to a crawl. Passing then to 70 km / h on the bypass is to remove the possibility of freeing the center of Milan where you can travel at 50 km / h.
