Mercedes C 63 AMG SW: introduced the restyled F1 Medical Car

Mercedes today unveiled the official pictures of the new Medical Car for the 2011 season of Formula 1: C 63 AMG station wagon, which together with the SLS AMG Safety Car following all the events of the Circus, she went to meet the facelift that has recently affected the Mercedes C Class road. The station has also been updated in the German mechanical engineering with the arrival of the new Speedshift MCT seven-speed gearbox and the AMG Performance Package, which brings the power of the 6.2 V8 from 457 to 487 hp at 6800 rpm, allowing it to take from 0 to 100 in 4.5 s.

The gain of 30 bhp was achieved with the adoption of forged pistons, connecting rods and the crankshaft of the lightweight SLS. The use of these components has also allowed a saving of 3 kg on the most important parts of the engine, resulting in a low inertia and a greater response to the shooting and the release of gas.

An integral part of the Performance Package is also a limited-slip differential. The C 63 AMG SW face this year its fourth consecutive season in the role of Medical Car World Championship. The provision of Mercedes models for the roles of medical and safety car in F1 back in the distant 1996, when the C 36 AMG covered both roles.
