Mercedes C-Class: the new hybrid will be with all engines?

Why settle for a single hybrid engine when you can have a 'full range? According to Autocar, quoting sources inside the house, the new generation of Mercedes C-Class will have virtually all of the endothermic engine combined with an electric propulsion. Measure to radically decrease fuel consumption and emissions: the target is to bring the emissions of diesel and gasoline cheaper to average 100-120 g / km of CO2.

The first prototypes are already being tested. It is also rumored 3-cylinder power units or units that can "turn off" one or more combustion chambers where it is not necessary to make them work. Much work is being done to reduce internal friction of engines and transmissions. While the total weight should drop by 10%.

Nevertheless, the presence of batteries in electric propulsion system, and its the same wiring. Arrival scheduled for late 2013.
