Milan-San Remo 2011, twice Alfa Romeo

It ended yesterday (Sunday, March 13), via Montenapoleone in Milan, the ninth edition of the Coppa Milano-Sanremo, vintage car regularity race organized by the MAC Group and sponsored by the Automobile Club Milano. After three long and tiring days of competition, and after dealing with more than 700 km almost all in the pouring rain, the two crews were imposed official Automobilismo Storico Alfa Romeo, the team managed by the Museum in Arese in this way brings back roads of Italy and the world its beautiful vintage cars.

First they finished absolute and Scarlett Labate John Moceri the alpha 6C 1500 Super Sport in 1928 that at the end of the 29 tests played regularly, topped teammates Fabio Salvinelli and Maurizio De Marco, aboard the legendary 6C 1750 Gran Sport 1930. The third step of the podium on white lead Jordan Hubs and Stefania Lancia Aprilia 1939.

A great satisfaction for the "alfisti" and especially for Moceri-Labate, who repeated his victory in the last edition. Bringing two cars to the finish and in such extreme weather conditions such as those sustained during that race was not a simple undertaking. Finish with a shotgun, then, is a satisfaction that deserves a big celebration.

Not just applause. Be noted that these same crews, and with the same cars, will present at the start of next Mille Miglia, scheduled May 12 to 15. Needless to say, if a good day starts in the morning ... Alfa Romeo then really serious intentions for "the most beautiful race in the world." The Coppa Milano-Sanremo 2011 took place along the line-Alessandria-Torino-Milano-Sanremo Carrù-Finale Ligure-Genoa-Milan.

A large ring that included, for the first time, the town of Mole to honor its status as the first capital of Italy and then celebrate the 150th anniversary of national unity. Another clear reference to the anniversary special was the list with 150 crew members at the start, including the super sports who participated all'inedito Ferrari Gran Milano-Sanremo Tour "dedicated to the creation of Britain.

The first stage, after the examination and a few laps on the track at Monza, brought crews from the center of Milan to Turin, where he played an exciting night arrival for a moment that he did remember the old Monte Carlo Rally. The second day was held on the hills of Cuneo to a close, even at night in central Genoa after a stopover on the seafront at Sanremo.

From Genoa, finally, the carousel drive is back in the Virgin Mary after crossing the hills. Members - representatives of 12 countries and included a large group of Russians - have brought the car all over, including dozens of valuable pre-war rally as ABC Gran Sport (1929), Alfa Romeo RL Super Sport (1925), Amilcar CGSS (1926), Riley Brooklands (1928), Aston Martin Le Mans (1933), Austin Seven (1937), Bentley 4.5 (1936).
