New Maybach Guard: Safety luxury

The ultra-luxury Maybach brand of limousine is ready to launch the new Maybach Guard, reinforced version of the only car able to compete for luxury, elegance and exorbitant price with the noble British brand Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Founded in Germany in 1918, the car manufacturer Maybach has long been left in oblivion before "resurrect" in 2002 under the leadership of Daimler-Benz Group (owner of the mark since 1960) that led to a debut in two ultra-luxury limousine different lengths called 57 and 62.

In 2009, the "silt" Teutonic has undergone a slight facelift that has improved some mechanical and aesthetic details, trying to bridge the gap coat, but not content, that separate it from the Anglo-Saxon rivals. With the new version Guard, Maybach wishes to offer its wealthy and demanding customers such as international stars, businessmen and heads of state the highest level of safety, security and discretion, combined with luxury and opulence to which we used this brand.

Made on the basis of 62 S, 6.17 meters long well, the version Guard is made in factories where Maybach technicians assemble parts from the outset with the rest of the armored car components. Even a trained eye is almost impossible to distinguish one model from a Maybach Maybach Guard "normal", the armor is in fact "hidden" in the body and is made with a special armor steel reinforced Kevlar combined with several components.

The effectiveness of protection is guaranteed and certified by independent government agencies which carry out spot checks, and that have the ability to revoke their certification at any time. Through the use of lightweight materials, the overall weight of armor was contained in just 430 kg, and as the Maybach was designed originally to bear the additional weight of the vehicle, no changes were made to the suspension, transmission or braking system.

Although the total weight of the car outweighs the three tons, the mighty 12-cylinder 6.0-liter, 630 hp and 1000 Nm of torque, which equips the Guard does not appear to be affected at all. In terms of performance the Maybach Guard is not afraid to fact: the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes just 5.7 seconds and top speed is electronically limited reaches 250 km / h, all obtained in the maximum security offered by the many electronic devices such as the ASR, ESP, Brake Assist System BAS and electronically controlled suspension Airmatic DC.
