Renault unveils the public of the Geneva Motor Show 2011, the R-Space Concept, intriguing show car that combines the features of a futuristic multi-purpose people carrier that of a vehicle with a sporty character, both in the forms for the technological content and mechanical . The difficult task of Renault designers was to create a new vehicle, family friendly and at the same time, inspired by the formula decreed in 1984 that the success of the first generation Espace.

" Just 4.25 meters long, the French concept shows a single volume characterized by the tapering side window profile that emphasizes the dynamic profile, while the large glass roof - the thickness of which gradually changes - joins the windshield in one piece and transforms the passenger compartment in a warm and bright.
The front of the car, albeit adapted to the proportions of an MPV, borrows some design solutions of the Capture, the other innovative show cars of the French company presented at the Geneva event. The rear view, perpendicular and no rush, is elegant and clean, muscular while the sides are hiding the four doors that open like a book, a solution already seen on 'Opel Meriva.
Turning to the interior is clearly visible in the front, and in particular in the forms of the dashboard and seats many similarities with the concept DeZir. The driver enjoys an environment characterized by a hi-tech dashboard compact - almost hidden behind the multifunction steering wheel - which incorporates a screen to manage the various functions of the car.
The console gives to those who observe the visual impression of being suspended in midair, while the front seats to form a shell in the back are united as if they were collected in a "hug", thus the idea of a couple in love. The rear compartment is completely dedicated to children instead.
The volume behind the front seats, flexible and infinitely versatile, are designed to play and impress. The space is in fact used by twenty-seven cubic adjustable height settings allowing four programmable switching it from a completely flat surface for a car seat, a table or a random configuration (only when the vehicle is parked) for games children.
