Thefts: 65,000 vehicles are lost ... street

Although they are slightly down, vehicle theft remains a constant phenomenon in Italy affecting thousands of families each year. The figures released by the Ministry of Interior show that, in 2010, 124,197 cars were evaporated amounted to more than 340 every day, including Saturdays and holidays. Although the figure was down 5.15% compared to 2009, the recoveries decreased by 8% as the percentage of findings that if in 2009 was 48.8%, last year reached 47.3 %, amounting to a total of 65,398 cars stolen and never recovered.

The models are the ones most coveted by thieves numerically more numerous, with a head 5 models of the Fiat Panda, Punto, the One, the 500 and the Lancia Ypsilon. As with any statistics, within the country there are areas of high incidence and other low. Starting with the latter, the oasis happy is the province of Belluno, with just 18 thefts, followed by Sondrio, Aosta, Verbania and Oristano.

The regions most at risk are Lazio, Campania and Lombardy, with 22,309, 20,401 and 19,435 robberies. But if it is estimated that the latter has a number of people (and cars) 60% higher than that of Lazio and 58% to that of Campania, the figures must be treated differently. That large cities were visited by thieves known, given that over 50% of these offenses involving six provinces: those of Rome, Naples, Milan, Bari, Catania and Torino.
