Toyota Prius to the conquest of Australia C

Toyota is preparing to conquer the city car market with the Prius Concept C, which will go into production in 2012. To evaluate the popularity of hybrid buyers Australians against ecological and agile, the Japanese exhibit at the Australian Motor Show in July in Melbourne. David Buttner, executive director for sales and marketing at Toyota Australia, believes that the vocation of urban Prius C may pave the way for hybrid cars, still not accepted in the continent.

"We decided to take the car to the Australian Motor Show to test the attraction of consumers, which we expect to belong to a target different from the one who chose the current Prius," said Buttner. "Buyers are those who love the compact-car, young singles and couples who want a car that suits the city that offers an economical solution to fuel spending and it is fun to drive." With similar features to the hybrid code-named FT-CH presented at the NAIAS in Detroit, the Prius C is about 560 mm shorter than the base model and 25 mm in the sides closer.

While the launch may depend on the Australian public's response to his appearance in Melbourne, the C of the Prius in the U.S. market is already scheduled for the first half of 2012.
