Toyota Yaris HSD: mini hybrid

The hybrid version of the Yaris, which stands for the HSD Hybrid Synergy Drive, has arrived at Geneva as a concept and confirms the intention of Toyota hybrid to offer an alternative for the entire range of its models, including even the entry level as the Yaris. The Toyota Yaris HSD has been the subject of cosmetic changes as was the case for all hybrid versions of the House: grid of small, blue LED lights and shapes surrounded by the radiator grille that incorporates the logo.

The wheels are special 18-inch ventilated and there is a large rear spoiler. No mirrors were replaced by cameras. The Yaris can use the hybrid electric-only mode but were not released data on consumption: the concept shown in Geneva shows solar panels on the roof to power the air conditioning system and reduce consumption, but it is unknown if this device will resume also in the production model.

The prototype was presented in an exclusive pearl white. The production of the Yaris HSD exist in the second half of 2012 in the plant in Valenciennes, France and sales should begin next year. The Yaris will complement the Auris will be built instead HSD in England.
