USA: still a poor knowledge of hybrid and electric among motorists

According to a survey conducted by the U.S. Synovate on a sample of 1898 U.S. cars to assess the degree of knowledge of hybrid and electric cars, the public overseas still has very little knowledge on this type of environmentally friendly cars. One example: only two-thirds of respondents know that hybrid cars are equipped with an internal combustion engine and an electric motor.

A large part of the sample also does not know what a hybrid car is equipped with batteries. Still, only one third of respondents were aware of the possibility of full hybrid car to travel short distances using only electric propulsion. And finally, the height: less than half of drivers know that the plug-in hybrids have this capability.

"What would be then, the socket?" Sarcastic ask colleagues from Autoblog. com. The survey results suggest that the extensive publicity campaigns conducted in the U.S. car makers have not provided adequate technical details of the message of these cars. And you can bet that the arrival of EREV, the plug-in hybrid and pure electric will only increase the confusion of customers already quite disoriented.
