Veritas RS III Hybrid: Hybrid uncompromising

The Veritas is a manufacturer of handcrafted sports car that can boast even a noble but ill-fated presence in Formula One between 1951 and 1953. In recent years the German company Vermot AG, a new owner of Veritas, has decided to continue the tradition of self-essential, sports and made up for BMW mechanics that made the fortune of the mark almost 60 years ago.

Last year, the manufacturer Teutonic began series production of the RS III, a sports-bodied boat driven by the 5.0-liter BMW V10 with 507 hp and built up to now only 30 copies, while the news of these days' arrival is also a hybrid variant of Veritas, which through the addition of an electric engine to the heat signed BMW, significantly increases the performance of the Bavarian engine.

As anticipated, the mechanical part is composed of V10 from 507 hp and 520 Nm of torque, also mounted on the BMW M5 and M6 and is coupled to a 143 hp electric motor, thereby arriving at a total maximum power of 650 hp. The ESA is powered by a pack of lithium-ion battery that increases the balance of 1050 kg of RS III standard, 1280 kg, a value certainly very welcome.

Despite the extra weight, compared to the version with only the mortor gasoline, the Hybrid III RS earns one-tenth of a second in acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h which is declared in only 3.1 seconds. The rapid acceleration is the result not only of the abundance of horses, including four-wheel drive, obtained by placing the electric motor on the front of the car.

For the braking system is one of the Brabham entrusted to specialists who have designed a system with carbon-ceramic discs, 380 mm "bites" with six-piston calipers for the front and 350 mm with 4 piston calipers for the rear. The system has a retractable electronic aids such as ABS and traction control.

Aesthetically, the Veritas RS III Hybrid follows the forms and contents of the boat from which: long 4.68 meters wide, 2.02 meters high and only 0, 97, the sport has a body made entirely of carbon fiber, inspired by the world competitions. The interior has been designed to accommodate two people, but more attention should instead guide that features a small windscreen, a protective frame tubing, a roll-bar and a sports seat belts with high-containment signed a four-point by Recaro.
