Villa d'Este 2011: the most stylish cars on display

In news from the arrival of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, the event dedicated to cars of the richest traditions that takes place every year in Villa d'Este, near Lake Como. Brought to the fore in the nineties, this competition is held under the auspices of BMW, which aims to "cultivate a tradition of change." The 2011 edition includes four key changes: a new date at the end of May (May 20 to 22), enlargement of the opening to the public on Saturday, the competition for motorcycles and the auction of prestige cars .

In the upcoming edition, there will also be a competition for concept cars. Like every year, the competition for about 50 vintage cars will be divided into 8 different categories of vehicles. This year will be held in special regard to the sixties, with about 20 cars at that time divided into subcategories "Glamour", "Sport" and "Unexpected." Among the cars in the competition there will be a BMW 328, the two-seater racing in just 464 units produced between 1936 and 1940, Rolls-Royce Phantom II Special Town Car, 1933, the most expensive car in his year of birth for the elements gold-plated, indirect lighting and leather quality.

On the occasion of his fiftieth birthday, could not miss the Jaguar E-Type that according to the official documentation (and original) should be the first aircraft ever built. Here then the Alfa Romeo TZ2 Coupé Zagato, 1965, one of the 102 units produced, thanks to 165 bhp and its low weight, could reach 265 km / h.
